General questions


  • How is the resort and hotel situated in relation to the island?

    Papagayo Beach Hotel and Resort is located in the south of Curaçao in the vibrant Jan Thiel area at Jan Thiel Beach.

  • Can I park at my accommodation? What is the rate?

    Papagayo Curacao offers several parking spaces around the hotel and resort. Papagayo Beach Hotel has a guest parking space behind the lobby and Papagayo Beach Resort offers a private parking lot at each villa. There are also possibilities to park your car in the area. No parking fees apply.

  • Is there Wi-Fi available in the villas, rooms and on the beach?

    Our guests can use our open Wi-Fi networks anywhere within Papagayo Beach Hotel, Resort, Plaza, and Beach Club.

  • What are the costs for the beach?

    All our guests staying at Papagayo Beach Hotel or Resort receive a beach pass at check-in that will provide free entrance to the Jan Thiel Beach area and to the regular beach beds at Papagayo Beach Club. For beach beds outside Papagayo guests must pay for the beds. 


    Outside guests pay 6 guilders for entrance and 10 guilders per person for a regular bed at Papagayo Beach Club.

  • What is the rate for a VIP Cabana at the Beach Club?

    At Papagayo Beach Club we offer VIP cabanas to our guests, which can be reserved via events@papagayo.com. The rates are NAF 100,- per Cabana this includes a large bottle of sparkling/flat water, beach towels, a snack platter (choice of 3 options), and a fruit platter. In addition, the VIP Cabanas have an exclusive service on the beach.

  • Is it possible to order groceries for our first day? What are the costs?

    It is possible to order grocery packages in advance at Papagayo Beach Resort. If you are staying at Papagayo Beach Resort, it is possible to order a starter package for USD 80,- or choose the VIP grocery package for USD 175,-. The VIP package consists of additional and more exclusive items compared to the starter package. Requests can be emailed to reservations@papagayo.com 


    It is also possible to order a mini bar starter package if you are staying at Papagayo Beach Hotel. The rate is USD 18,- for the minibar package consisting of a variety of drinks.

  • I have an allergy/diet or belief and have a grocery package, do you take this into account?

    If you have an allergy, diet, or belief that prevents you from eating certain products, this will be taken into account if you inform us. Please send your request at least 48 hours in advance via reservations@papagayo.com.

  • How often is the villa and hotel cleaned?

    Your villa or hotel room will be cleaned every day by our hardworking housekeeping staff.

  • Are there safes in the villa/hotel room?

    There is a safe in each villa and hotel room for your valuables.

  • Is there a gym available?

    There is a gym available at Papagayo Beach Hotel where all our guests have free access too. Besides individual sports, the gym offers various group classes and the possibility to use the sauna and infrared cabin. It is necessary to bring a sports pass as proof of entrance, this can be obtained at the reception.

  • Are pets allowed?

    Although we love animals, pets are unfortunately not allowed inside the resort and hotel.

  • What facilities are available?

    Papagayo Curaçao offers various facilities within the hotel, resort, and surroundings. For example, Papagayo has a supermarket, a gym, a spa, a casino, a restaurant at the resort, and one at the hotel, car rental options, and our shopping plaza offers plenty of shopping opportunities.

  • Do you have air conditioning or fans?

    Every bedroom within the resort and hotel is equipped with air conditioning. Additional fans are available in our villas at the resort. The living area in the bungalows does not have air conditioning.

  • What TV channels do you offer?

    Our TVs are equipped with a total of 57 channels broadcast from different countries.

  • What kind of outlets and voltages do you have?

    We offer 220 volt outlets, if you would like an adapter from 110 volts to 220 you can obtain one at the front desk.

  • Is there an ironing board and iron in the villa/hotel room?

    Our hotel rooms and villas have an ironing board and iron.

  • Is there a laundry and dry cleaning service?

    There is a laundry service available at Papagayo Beach Resort. For a small fee, laundry tokens can be purchased at the front desk; the dryer is free.


    Both the front desk at the resort and hotel offer the option of laundry service for a small amount.

  • How is the kitchen equipment? Is there a refrigerator, stove, microwave, pans ect.?

    The hotel and resort offer both a refrigerator, coffee machine and kettle. 


    Our villas at the resort are equipped with renovated kitchens including a combi microwave, dishwasher, stove, large refrigerator, pots and pans, Nespresso machine, and all other products you usually find in a kitchen.

  • Is there a hair dryer?

    There is a hair dryer in every bathroom at our hotel and resort.

  • Are there mosquito nets in the villas?

    Mosquito nets are available upon request.

  • Is there beach towel service?

    Upon check-in, our guests receive a Papagayo Beach Bag including one (1) beach towel per person. This beach towel can be changed daily at the front desk and must be returned at check-out, if not a fee is applicable. 


    *Beach towels at the resort can be changed until 23:00 in the evening.


Traveling with children


  • Are cribs and children chairs available?

    Papagayo Beach Hotel offers cribs on request. 


    Papagayo Beach Resort offers cribs, children's chairs, and fences upon request.

  • Is there a babysitting service? If so, the cost?

    It is possible to reserve a nanny service at the hotel or resort via the front office or by emailing reservations@papagayo.com. The cost for the babysitting service is USD 20,- per hour.

  • How many children can stay in a hotel room?

    The maximum occupancy for our hotel rooms is 3 people, this is for both adults and children. Resort occupancy varies per villa (max 5 to 10 people).

  • Do we have bottle warmers in the villa/hotel rooms?

    In your hotel room, we have kettles available. In our villas at the resort, it is possible to warm bottles using the microwave or kettle.


Transportation


  • Can we book a transfer and what are the costs?

    It is possible to book a transfer between the airport and Papagayo Curaçao. The rate for a one-way trip is USD 55,- excl. 6% tax for a max. of 4 persons. If you are traveling with more than 4 persons or request a transfer after 22:00 extra costs are applicable. 


    The transfer can be requested through reservations@papagayo.com or arranged by the front office.

  • I have booked through a tour operator but would like a private transfer, is that possible?

    It is possible to arrange a private transfer instead of a transfer with your tour operator. Upon arrival at the airport or in advance, it is important that the tour operator is informed about your private transfer so that they do not have to wait unnecessarily at the airport. 


    Private transfers between the airport and Papagayo can be requested through reservations@papagayo.com.

  • How far is it to the city?

    The distance between Papagayo Curaçao and Willemstad (Punda/Otrobanda) is about 20 minutes by car.

  • What is the distance to the supermarket/shops?

    At Papagayo Beach Hotel you will find the Supermarket "Van der Tweel", which is open daily between 07:30 and 21:00.

  • How far is the beach?

    Papagayo Curaçao is located on Jan Thiel Beach. The hotel is directly located at the beach and from your Resort depending on the location of your bungalow, the walking distance is up to a minute walk.

  • Do buses or taxis run to town?

    It is possible to reserve a taxi at the front desk for a restaurant or activity. We also have a bus stop across the hotel and resort where local transportation can be used.

  • How far is your hotel/resort from the airport?

    Papagayo Curaçao is about 35 minutes by car from the airport.


Reservations


  • Can I get an early check-in and what are the costs?

    The standard check-in time for the hotel is 15:00 and for the resort 16:00. The rate depends on your desired check-in time. If you require an early check-in it is based on our availability and can be requested at reservations@papagayo.com for a fee at least 48h before check-in.

  • Can I get a late check-out and what are the costs?

    The standard check-out time is 12:00 noon. If you require a late check-out this can only be done upon request. The rate depends on your desired check-out time. 

    After 18:00 a full night will be charged at the standard daily rate.  


    If you wish a late check-out this is based on our availability and can be requested at the front desk on the day of departure before 10:00.

  • If we cannot stay longer in the room or villa on the day of departure, is there a possibility to shower and change somewhere?

    Papagayo Beach Hotel and Resort both have a guest shower. Guests can sign up 1 day before departure. For more information, please contact the front desk.

  • What are your cancellation policies?

    Papagayo Beach Hotel: It is possible to cancel your booking up to 2 days before arrival. 

    Papagayo Beach Resort: It is possible to cancel your booking up to 28 days before arrival.

  • Can villas or rooms be booked next to each other?

    If you request to have your room or villa next to each other it is possible to indicate your preference when making your booking. We will do our best to accommodate you but unfortunately, we cannot guarantee this.

  • Do I need to provide a deposit or credit card authorization?

    At check-in, we always require a deposit. The fee is USD 100,- for room incidentals and USD 500,- if you wish to book the food and drinks in your room. It is possible to pay this deposit by credit card or cash.

  • Can you reserve by location: near the beach; centrally located near the restaurant at baby distance near the pool; higher located; without stairs; near exit etc.?

    It is always possible to indicate your preference for location when making a reservation. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the location of your hotel room or villa.

  • Are you an All-inclusive hotel?

    Papagayo Curaçao is not an all-inclusive hotel but we do offer various packages that can be booked during your stay: 

    - Breakfast: can be booked for USD 18,- per person per day. 

    - Half board: can be booked for USD 70,- per person per day including breakfast and a 3-course dinner on the day of arrival and ends with breakfast on the day of departure. 

    - Full board: can be booked for USD 95,- per person per day including breakfast, 2-course lunch, and 3-course dinner, excluding drinks. 


    In addition to our Papagayo restaurants, there are several nice restaurants in the area.


Dining


  • If I stay at the resort, can I have breakfast at the Beach Club instead of the resort restaurant?

    If you have booked breakfast during your stay at Papagayo Beach Hotel and Resort you can have breakfast at both restaurants: Papagayo Beach Club or Resort’s Specialty Restaurant.

  • What are the opening hours of the Resort's Specialty Restaurant and Papagayo Beach Club?

    Papagayo Beach Club is open from 07:00 to 23:00.

    Resort's Specialty Restaurant is open from 08:00 to 23:00.

  • I have religious beliefs and do not eat certain products but have booked breakfast, do you take this into account?

    Both restaurants offer a variety of breakfasts. If you have breakfast a la carte, please inform our staff about your religious belief so they can take this into account.

  • Can the refreshments ordered at Papagayo Beach Club or Resort’s Specialty Restaurant put into my room/villa account?

    If you have provided a deposit of USD 500,- during check-in, it is possible to add your refreshments to your villa or room account. The refreshments can be paid for during check-out.


Accessibility


  • Is there a toilet for disabled guests at the Beach Club restaurant?

    We have a disabled toilet on the right side of Papagayo Beach Club, located under the stairs to Papagayo Beach Plaza.

  • Is the resort or hotel handicapped accessible?

    Papagayo Beach Hotel has no adapted rooms specifically for disabled or wheelchair users. There is an elevator available in our hotel lobby, to make it possible for wheelchair users to book a room near the lobby. It is important to inform Reservations when making a reservation. 


    The villas at the resort are not easily accessible for disabled guests.


Business/Meetings


  • I am on a business trip, do you provide printing service?

    Our front desk staff will be happy to help you print your forms.

  • I am on a business trip and looking for a meeting room, do you have one?

    We offer a fully equipped meeting room including a wireless smart TV, flipchart, air conditioning, fast Wi-Fi connection, and furniture. We also offer various options for food and beverage during your meetings.

  • How many people can we accommodate?

    Our hotel meeting room has a maximum capacity of 50 people. If you wish to meet with a larger group, we have an excellent location at Papagayo Beach Club for events and/or meetings.

  • Do you have a loyalty program for companies or travel agents?

    Papagayo's loyalty program is an opportunity to earn points with every booking you make as a company or travel agent within Papagayo. The possibilities for an account can be requested at sales@papagayo.com.


Events and Groups


  • We are getting married, what can you do for us?

    Papagayo Curaçao offers various possibilities for your special day! Within Papagayo Beach Club there are several locations that can be rented according to your wishes and preferences. In addition, we offer group rates at both the resort and hotel. For your requests or more information, please email sales@papagayo.com.

  • We want to come with a large group, what can you do for us?

    If you wish to stay with a group at Papagayo Beach Hotel or Resort, with a group size of a minimum of 10 rooms, we are happy to inform you of the possibilities and special rates. Requests can be  emailed to sales@papagayo.com

  • It is someone's birthday and is staying at your resort/hotel. An acquaintance of ours is getting married or has been married for so many years; can I arrange something such as a cake, flowers or bottle of wine?

    It is certainly possible to arrange gifts for guests staying at the resort or hotel such as decorations, a cake, a bottle of wine, fresh flowers or breakfast in the room / villa. We are happy to think with you about the right gift for one of our guests. Requests can be emailed to sales@papagayo.com.


Activities


  • Is there a supermarket and shopping possibilities in the area?

    At Papagayo Beach Hotel you will find the ‘Van der Tweel’ supermarket. You will also find Papagayo Plaza where you will find several shopping stores and a casino, a spa, several car rental companies, and a snack bar.

  • We would like to book an activity, can you make a reservation for us?

    Our front office staff will be happy to help you book your desired activities such as swimming with dolphins, buggy/jeep tours, day trips to Fuik, and much more!

  • Can you dive at Papagayo Beach?

    Right next to Papagayo Beach Club on the beach is Fundiving Curaçao located, which offers opportunities for trial dives and obtaining various Padi courses.


    There are also several other diving schools in the area, for more opportunities and reservations please contact our front office staff.

  • Can you make restaurant reservations for us? Also reservations at restaurants that are not yours?

    Our friendly front office staff will be happy to help you make reservations at any of the restaurants on the island or at our own culinary restaurants at Papagayo Beach Club or at Specialty Restaurant.
